Welcome to TA College
As a previous tutor in a local college I realised the difficulties some students had trying to obtain a qualification, whilst juggling with work, taking care of their children and trying to attend college.
I created The TA College to help overcome these difficulties by bringing the learning to you.
The training is delivered through e-learning via easy to follow study sessions and a personal e-portfolio to store your work into.
You can study whenever it is most convenient to you, be it in your lunchtime, in the school, at home, or wherever you have access to the internet.
There is no need for you to attend evening or day release classes at your local college, although you will be required to have a placement for the duration of your course. This can be obtained by contacting schools in your local region requesting a placement on a paid or voluntary basis.
You can also decide when you would like to start your course, you are not restricted to term dates.
When designing the online programmes we were particularly careful to ensure that your studies were as varied and interesting as possible to help retain your motivation. This was achieved by using a variety of teaching methods, incorporating online lectures, video clips of other Teaching Assistants working with pupils, tasks to carry out in school, a bulletin board to keep you updated with current issues and a forum enabling you to converse with other students throughout the world.
I am confident that you will enjoy our study sessions as much as we have enjoyed creating them. I look forward to receiving your application form.
Vocational qualifications are changingThey’re becoming more responsive to the demands of employers and learners.
They’ll be more relevant to employers’ needs and more accessible to a wider range of learners.
An essential tool in this reform of vocational qualifications is the QCF.
What is the QCF? (Qualification and Credit Framework)
The QCF is a new way of creating and accrediting qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They are also recognised in Scotland
It is replacing the existing National Qualifications Framework which is set to close for registrations at the end of 2010.
All current qualifications will be reviewed and redeveloped for the QCF
Why not take a look at these new qualifications by clicking on the ‘Courses tab’ on the home page then find the link to the QCF page at the top of the qualification list.
