The study sessions are divided into manageable chunks and are easy to learn from as they incorporate many different teaching and learning methods from reading text, teaching by the cyber tutor, video clips, audio, pictures, short activities during the study session, longer written activities, sharing opinions within the forum and of course, learning from experience in school and linking it to your learning with The Teaching Assistant College.

The Teaching Assistant College have produced study sessions that are easy to follow with clear instructions and step-by-step guidance. The study sessions have also been carefully created to be highly interactive to ensure a student-centred approach and maximise your learning.

Throughout your course you will have access to tutor support through an ‘email your tutor’ link, you can therefore email your tutor with any question or query and gain a quick response through a return email. A telephone tutorial will also take place in the first few weeks of the course, during Unit 1 and again during Unit 2. These tutorials will take place at a time convenient to yourself and your tutor arranged via email. The tutors at The Teaching Assistant College are all friendly and helpful and, of course, want to support you in being a successful Teaching Assistant.

As a student with The Teaching Assistant College when you log in to the site with your personal ID number and password you will have access to your personal folder to save your work in, details of your progress with your studies, access to the hyperlnk library directing you to other sites that may be useful for your personal research and enhance your learning experience and resources to use with pupils in school and help you become acquainted with modern teaching methods.

The Teaching Assistant College with occasionally host events for Teaching Assistants to attend with workshops on course related topics. These conferences are a chance for you to meet other Teaching Assistants and take away new ideas to use in school. The events are open to all Teaching Assistants, whether studying with The Teaching Assistant College or not, though students with the college will receive a significant discount should they wish to attend.
