The Teaching Assistant College attended the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) held at the Royal Horseguard’s Hotel on the 15th – 17th May 2010.
The conference proved to be extremely successful for us, with very positive interest in the Teaching Assistant qualifications and INSET training from schools based in a wide range of locations!

Teaching Assistants Abroad
The Teaching Assistant College is an international distance, e-learning college created to make becoming a qualified Teaching Assistant more flexible and accessible. You can gain UK recognised qualifications to become a Teaching Assistant anywhere in the world.
We are currently training TAs throughout the UK and in British schools abroad such as Luxembourg, Norway, Rumania, Belgium, Germany, Dubai, Thailand, Cyprus, Kenya and Vietnam.
The Teaching Assistant College offers the opportunity for TAs to qualify by working at their own pace, whenever or wherever they have access to the internet. Our online courses are motivating and interesting with a variety of different teaching and learning activities including contact with other students through the online discussion forum.
Our recognised qualifications are accredited by City & Guilds and CACHE and are suitable for all Teaching Assistants supporting in British and International schools around the world
As part of our continuing development to meet the individual needs of Teaching Assistants we offer CACHE certificates and NVQ courses in ‘Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools’ and NVQs in ‘Children’s Care Learning & Development’ (CCLD).
Whilst studying for the courses it is a requirement that you spend time in a British/International school as placements are a highly valuable part of the course. If you choose to complete an NVQ an assessor will visit you during your course and observe you working with pupils and carrying out your role within the school.
Why would you as an individual or your school benefit from you having a recognised qualification?
NVQs are work-related, competence based qualifications that reflect the skills and knowledge needed to do the job effectively.
They represent occupational standards, and current best practice.
They provide Teaching Assistants with the ability to adapt to future requirements.
Teaching Assistants are practically assessed and you obtain a full qualification as any TA would in the UK.
Alongside the mandatory units students are able to select optional units that represent their individual role.
The TA College also design and deliver worldwide, professional development programmes for schools that have students already involved with supporting learning, or for those who would like to become Teaching Assistants. (Please refer to the ”Bespoke Training Courses’ Section for more details).
